The department of Bible/Theology defines "educating" as primarily the academic "classroom" enterprise of teaching. The practical application of training is understood to involve "equipping". And, "enriching" refers to the enhancement of personal faith. The primary expression of departmental mission is in the academic enterprise of classroom teaching as it seeks to provide for all students a thorough knowledge of the Bible and a sound understanding of theology which is necessary for spiritual leadership. Such is needed for the formal ministry at all levels as well. In so doing, the department seeks to provide a biblical and theological foundation to undergird those departments whose programs equip and enrich our students.
Objective:
The objective of this program is that the student will have additional breadth and focus in preparation for ministry on the undergraduate level than was provided by the student's initial bachelor's degree.
