INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING TO
MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Admission Requirements
Early application for admission is advantageous both to the student and to the college.
Students who intend to enroll in Manhattan Christian College should take the following
steps to assure prompt action on their applications. Manhattan Christian College requires
an application, three references, high school transcript, and incoming students must take
either the ACT or the SAT. MCC requires a minimum score of 18 on the ACT (860 SAT - combined
verbal and math) and a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative high school GPA. The average ACT
score for incoming freshmen (2005) was 23, and students averaged a 3.22 GPA. MCC does not
require a college prep curriculum. We do suggest college prep classes, especially in the
area of English, to be prepared for college-level course work. MCC also requires students
to describe their relationship with Jesus Christ to be admitted.
- Submit a completed application form along with a $25.00 application fee (non-refundable). You may print an application off our website, or you may complete the application online.
- High school students should have your high school send an official copy of your transcripts which show at least six semester's work for evaluation to the college. If you have any college credits, an official transcript of the college courses must be sent directly from each college attended. We will need a final high school transcript following your graduation from high school.
Transfer students (including LEAD and Online students) should have official copies of your transcripts from all colleges you have attended sent to the admissions office at MCC.
GED recipients should have official copies of your test scores sent from the organization who administered the test, or your state board of education.
Home School Students should have a transcript from your sponsoring organization or curriculum supplier/supervisor which shows at least six semester's work for evaluation. A final transcript indicating graduation will also be necessary.
- Distribute the two personal reference forms to the appropriate people and ask them to mail the forms to the Admissions Office. List in your application the names of the people to whom you gave the reference forms. You must give a reference form to:
- A pastor or other church leader
- An employer or friend or
- A teacher or counselor
- High School students should take the ACT or SAT tests and have the results sent to the college. Manhattan Christian College's ACT code is 1436 and the SAT code is 6392.
- If you plan to apply for financial aid (including federal, state, and/or MCC Scholarships) you must complete the FAFSA , available from a high school counselor, public library, MCC financial aid office, or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
After the above steps are completed, the Admissions Committee will evaluate the application and promptly notify you of the action taken.
The application is available online or for you to print. You can also print the reference forms and send completed forms to Manhattan Christian College. If you have difficulty printing the application or reference forms, please contact Admissions and we will be glad to mail you the forms. Again, students may complete the application online.
