Coach Henricks
Vern Henricks is the newest member of the Crusader Sports staff and brings a tremendous amount of experience to the program, both as a coach and administrator. He joined the Manhattan Christian College team on August 1, 2006 as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Head Baseball Coach.

His athletic background is quite extensive as a player, coach and community leader. Coach Henricks played basketball and pitched for Dodge City Community College baseball team. Upon graduation Vern transferred to Kansas State University where he lettered two years as a pitcher and was selected as captain his Senior year.
After graduation from Kansas State University with a BS and MS degree, he was asked to lead the resurrection of the Fort Hays State University baseball program. He held the distinction of being the youngest head coach in NAIA history in 1979 at the age of twenty-four. His Fort Hays State University coaching record of 269-144 was the highest in the school's twenty-four year history both in total wins and win-loss percentage. Thirty-eight athletes were selected All-District 10 first team, thirty-one for CSIC All-Conference first team, twelve as NAIA All-Americans, and seven as NAIA Academic All-Americans. Eighty-seven percent of student athletes involved with baseball program from 1979-87 received four year degrees.
Coach Henricks is a community leader with a distinguished and successful 27-year career in athletics and fundraising. MCC President Kevin Ingram says, “Vern’s expertise and experience will raise the bar for our efforts. He is a proven relationship-builder and passionate about helping others achieve their goals. He will energize our thinking about the future of our ministry.”

Coach Randall
Bobby Randall comes to MCC from Nebraska where he was the hitting and thrid base coach for the independendent league Lincoln Saltdogs. Previous to that he was the hitting coach for the AAA Indianapolis Indians (Brewers organization).
A native of Gove, KS, Randall attended Kansas State University on a dual athletic scholarship to play baseball and basketball. After playing one season of basketball for Tex Winter, he concentrated solely on baseball and went on to post a career batting average of .371, which still ranks among the school's all-time bests. Randall received his degree in business and finance in 1970. He was drafted three times by the Los Angles Dodgers organization and finally signed after the club made him the 32nd overall pick in the 1969 draft. During his time in the Dodger organization, he served as a player-coach for Bakersfield in 1972. He went on to play 12 seasons in professional baseball and broke into the Majors as a 28-year-old rookie in 1976. He spend five years with the Minnesota Twins, including four as the team's everyday second baseman. In 1979, he was involved in the Twins' league-record 203 double plays turned during the season. A pure contact hitter, Randall averaged just one strikeout for every 13 at bats during his major league career.
Prior to his role with the Brewers organization, Randall coached baseball at the University of Kansas for seven years (1995-2002) after 14 seasons at Iowa State University, the last 11 as head coach.
Coach Randall and his wife Libby are the parents of two daughters.
