Adventure Awaits web banner

“Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”  –Jeremiah 33:3

Woman’s World is a non-denominational event that helps women understand their significance in God’s eyes.  The program includes practical seminars, a dynamic keynote speaker, buffet meals, times of worship, and lots of other surprises. This year’s theme of “Adventure Awaits” will be a hopeful and confident look at how God is leading and guiding us through His word through the seasons and unknown territory of our lives. It will be a fun and inspirational break from the winter months for all ages.  Woman’s World has been a ministry of Manhattan Christian College since 1978.

Ashley McNaryKeynote Speaker
Ashley McNary, Author

Ashley lives in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin where she and her husband, Jon, launched and lead Heartland Community Church.  Jon is the lead pastor and Ashley is the Creative Director and Director and teacher of the Women’s ministry. Enthralled by God and the story He is writing, she has authored two Bibles studies: Exodus and Colossians and she is the founder of Redefine Her, an online community where women study, seek, and share God’s redemptive narrative.

Ashley loves variety (a 7 on the Enneagram), the color grey, ranch dressing, playing games, sunshine, a good story, and spending time with her family and friends. The McNarys have three active and energetic children: Beckam, Easton, and Braylin and recently became a licensed foster home.

Fear Not!

The enemy uses fear and doubt to decrease our hope and limit our victories in this adventure.  But God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” Let’s explore how God leads and guides us through the seasons and unknown territory of our lives.  We can be confident that He is in control.

5:15-6:30                              Choice of Seminar (4 topics led by MCC Professors)

Exploring Heaven and Earth
Chris Pahls, Salina, KS

Join us for a journey through the biblical narrative as we explore the union of Heaven and Earth. We’ll identify and deconstruct common misconceptions, explore a biblical understanding of Old Testament and New Testament world-views, and explore God’s mission to redeem and restore as we gain a Bible-centered foundation for the concept of Heaven.

Good News Not Fake News!
Dr. Rick Wright, Manhattan, KS

Negative self-talk has become natural to us.  We tell ourselves the wrong things over and over until we think they are true, that’s fake news and we tend to believe it. Let’s take another look in the mirror in search of better news, good news, Gospel truth! Come be reminded to keep your focus on Christ, the author of your good news.

Jeremiah 33:3
Alisha Paddock, Wamego, KS

“Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”  Explore this theme verse in its original context, bring this Old Testament passage into the New Testament, and discuss how this verse applies to our lives.  Our time will be spent in in-depth Bible study, seeking to understand Jeremiah’s message to his original audience and to readers today.

The Church as a Missional Community
Dr. Dave Henry, Salina, KS

Churches in the New Testament carried out a specific mission in their specific setting. This seminar focuses on how the contemporary church can faithfully embrace the same mission of God in a setting that may be different from the early church. We will discuss both God’s mission for the church and our implementation of that mission.

Grace and Love, The Only Response
Jon Grogg, Manhattan, KS

A neighbor suggests getting together to throw a baby shower for the lesbian couple on your block.  A good friend with terminal breast cancer reveals she’s contemplating ending life ‘on her own terms.’ You’re at a party for work and everyone is smoking marijuana.  Let’s consider what is most important in cultural situations like these, what hangs in the balance, and some simple steps to leverage these opportunities with the gospel.

Let’s have a Head-On Collision with Conflict today!
Tammy Pitt, MA, MFTC, Woodland Park, CO

Like it or not we all face conflict. God desires for us to be in relationship with others and to go to one another to handle our differences. The equation for dealing with conflict includes emotions, being rational, and setting boundaries.  Come learn how to be wise in handling these head-on collisions in your life.

Lighten the Load
Dr. Cleion Morton, Wamego, KS

Even with so many roles, responsibilities, demands, and expectations most of us continue to pack more and more into every day.  It is then we find ourselves responding to the simple question of “How are you?” with one word…”BUSY”!  And so, we begin that frantic search for balance.  What if the journey is less about finding balance and more lightening the load?

Living & Growing in Community
Kylie Rupe, Ft. Worth, TX

God created us for relationship – with him first and foremost – and then with each other. The importance of connecting with others is displayed all throughout the Bible.  Let’s explore Christ-centered community and practical ways to learn and grow in deep connection.  Life is quite an adventure and we should experience it together!

Pack Your Bags
Christi Oakley, Wamego, KS

As we travel through this adventure of life, God has given us instructions on what to carry with us. Things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  How do we keep these priorities and how do we keep out the things the world tries to tell us are important? Come learn strategies so you’re always ready with a properly packed bag.

Until Help Arrives

This one-hour basic preparedness course will give you the tools needed to help by learning how to access the 911 system, communicate effectively, assess an emergency scene, control severe bleeding, recognize signs of sudden cardiac arrest and learn to perform compression only CPR.
