Campus Pastor – Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point Campus
Job Description
Community Christian Church (Community) is a thriving church that exists to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Our original campus, where we’ve been gathering since 2007, is in Tamarac, FL, west of Ft. Lauderdale in the greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale metro area. In early 2021, we completed the construction of a brand new NextGen Building at our Tamarac campus for our preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school students and the renovation of our Auditorium Building, bringing our total worship service seating capacity to approximately 2,000.
In January 2021, we opened a multi-site campus in the Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point area, approximately 30 minutes from our Tamarac campus. A complete renovation of the Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point campus was completed, and we relaunched Easter 2023.
Community’s current churchwide attendance, including those who watch our services online, is around 4,500, with over 100 nations of origin represented. We are an incredibly diverse church that we believe looks a lot like heaven when we come together. Our worship is engaging, our teaching biblical and relevant, and we have a heart for God and His people.
The ideal candidate for the Campus Pastor position will provide leadership and spiritual direction for our Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point campus. This individual will be a leader with exceptional skills and is passionate about facilitating dynamic and engaging Sunday services by equipping talented staff and volunteer leaders. The Campus Pastor will harness the unique qualities of the Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point campus to connect with emerging generations and people of diverse backgrounds.
Our Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point Campus Pastor will have infectious enthusiasm to advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ through excellent weekend gatherings, meaningful serving opportunities, and life-giving small groups. They will be highly motivated and driven to connect people to the body of Christ no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.
The Campus Pastor will:
- Champion the vision, mission, values, and DNA of Community at the campus level.
- Develop, lead, and manage the campus leadership team, including staff and key volunteer leaders.
- Participate in weekly all-staff meetings.
- Provide overall leadership for Sunday services at the Pompano Beach/Lighthouse Point campus, including the worship experience, programming for children and students, and the general operations of the campus.
- Provide oversight and direction for mid-week programs, including campus-based LifeGroups, other adult classes, and programs for children and students.
- Oversee the efforts to connect campus attendees to the church’s deeper life, including Starting Point, Discovering Community, LifeGroups, and serving opportunities.
- Oversee the development of volunteer teams.
- Submit for approval and manage the campus budget; create annual goals for the campus.
- Oversee pastoral care for the campus.
- Collaborate regularly with the Tamarac campus staff teams on general Community programming, events, and overall system processes.
Education And Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or equivalent) from a four-year college or university with a minimum of 5-7 years of ministry experience is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have a Restoration Movement background and theology and will be asked to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Deeply committed follower of Jesus.
- Affirms Community’s core beliefs, mission, values, and life practices by word and example.
- Effective administrative skills—including setting goals, facilitating advanced planning, and effectively managing ministry and personal schedules.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Comfortable public speaker.
- Strong gift of leadership and proven experience developing leaders and building teams.
- Ability to recruit, develop, retain, and communicate with volunteers.
- Aligns with Community’s vision to connect with people of varying ethnic and economic backgrounds.
- Team player—humble, willing to defer to others, can lead under direction.
- Practices Biblical stewardship principles including giving a tithe (10%) of family income to the church and the Kingdom.
