CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES DIRECTOR PART TIME

Starting Salary:  $200 per week

PURPOSE: To provide visionary and energetic leadership and oversight to the Children and Youth Ministries (birth-Grade 12) in fulfilling our hope for rebuilding our programs                                   

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor and Christian Education Ministry Team

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                                        

  1. Develop a continued vision for discipleship within Children and Youth Ministry that works in conjunction with overall vision and ministry of FBC.
  2. Develop relationship with current and potential volunteers 
  3. Become acquainted with children, youth, and their parents/families and create contact information format for ongoing communication with parents.
  4. Provide planning, leadership, and teaching as needed for Children and Youth Ministry:    
  • Sunday morning Sunday School
  • Sunday morning Children’s Worship
  • Possible Wednesday Night activities as attendance grows
  • Other special children’s/family/Youth outreach events (VBS)
  • Summer camp if interest exists
  1. Operate within confines of FBC budget and make requests for additional funds as needed to Christian Education Team/FBC Council.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Leadership/Teaching
  2. Organization
  3. Computer/Technology
  4. Familiarity with Children and Youth Ministry Curriculum/Resources
  5. Knowledge and enforcement of safety standards related to ministry

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Dependable/Visible presence on the FBC scene on Sundays and as needed
  2. Ability to relate to and cooperate with a variety of personalities
  3. Possesses self-motivation and enthusiasm for working with children
  4. Can demonstrate “hands on” ability for structuring and growing ministry
  5. Stability and Maturity in personal faith and spiritual journey experience
  6. Previous church volunteer experience, job experience, and/or educational experience 
  7. Above all, possesses a heart and passion for Children and Youth Ministry and a desire to share God’s love
