Who we are:

Stafford County Christian Church (SCCC) is a non-denominational church located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington DC. Stafford County is a significant suburb of the Capital with a very large and growing population, and benefits from all the latest technological advancements. We also have a large military presence which is reflected in our church body demographics. The community surrounding the church is growing rapidly and offers incredible ministry opportunities. At this time, plans and construction are already in motion to add an additional 2900 homes in the area immediately surrounding SCCC. We’re excited about what that means for outreach and discipling opportunities. The vision of SCCC is “To create Christ followers who are bold for Christ.”

What we are looking for:

We are prayerfully seeking a part-time worship director with a goal of growing the position to full time as the church grows. We desire to find someone who is passionate about creating a meaningful and excellent worship experience at SCCC. We are looking for someone who can engage and lead our talented volunteers and help us grow participation. We are also looking for someone who can work with our Senior Pastor to develop a vision for continuing development and improvement of worship at SCCC.

Primary Commitments:

To be a catalyst, with an energetic, engaging personality and passion for worshiping God both personally and corporately
Lead and be a regular integral participant with other worship team members in weekly worship services
Build strong relationships with the staff, elders, and core worship ministry team


To be considered for this position the applicant must:

Have prior experience leading a worship ministry. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is desirable.
Be competent with both instrumental and vocal music and able to lead and teach others in both areas
Have experience and competence in use of multimedia and drama in worship services
Have strong Christian character, belief that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and live out a solid Christ-like example
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have a passion for excellence and continuous development in all areas of the worship ministry
Be a strategic thinker who is able to create and successfully implement new worship elements
Be able to collaborate with fellow staff toward the common church vision
Have a teachable spirit, humble heart, and a bold passion to help people have a dynamic worship experience
Be able to adapt to the needs of SCCC and its growing congregation
Be committed to the Biblical positions of the independent Christian Churches / Churches of Christ

Key Areas of Focus:

Overseeing all areas of the worship ministry (music, sound, multimedia, drama)
Establishing and leading effective rehearsal/preparation times
Recruiting, training, and discipling both team leaders and vocal and/or instrumental participants

Worship Leader Development:

Lead the ministry with passion, excitement, and vision
Identify, recruit, train, place and empower new leaders into the ministry team
Set up monthly meetings to collaborate in creating, developing, implementing, and continually assessing the effectiveness of an enticing, passionate worship ministry
