MBB wins Opener at Nationals

The MCC men's basketball won their opening round game at the National Tournament on Tuesday against Multnomah University, 120-111.  Multnomah plays a fast paced pressing style, and offensively they love to shoot the three-pointer.  MCC played a solid game and was able to maintain the lead throughout on their way to the victory.  The Crusaders led 57-47 at halftime, and after pushing the lead to 62-47, Multnomah proceeded to connect on their next eight three-pointers to make the score 76-71.  Each time that Multnomah would close the gap, MCC was able to respond.  Matt Doerksen came off the bench to lead MCC with 24 points, while Lonnie Penner and Sage Ruis had 20 each.

MCC will now face off against the #1 seed, Ohio Christian University at 6:00pm on Thursday.
