MCC Clinches Top Seed in the Region

MCC finished off the regular season portion of their schedule by defeating Baptist Bible College, 83-76.  With the win and a loss by Central Bible College to Grace, the Crusaders clinched the top seed in the Regional Tournament by going 7-1 in region play.

The victory against Baptist Bible College didn't come easy, as the the Patriots rallied from a twelve point first half deficit to tie the score early in the second half at 41.  The Crusaders would push the lead out, but BBC would continue keep it close, closing the gap to 67-66 with just under five minutes left.  Josh Camacho responded with a key three-pointer that sent MCC on 6-0 run, which gave MCC a little cushion to close out the game.  MCC got key contributions off the bench from Jordan Morrow and Ben Svorinic as they each scored 13 points.  Morrow scored 7 in the first half and 6 in the second, while Svorinic did all of his damage in the second frame.  Lonnie Penner led MCC with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

MCC finishes the season at 19-9 overall and begins postseason play this week as the top seed in the Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament in Joplin.
