MCC Soccer 3rd & Volleyball 5th in NCCAA Pre-season Coaches Poll

Coming off of an impressive 3rd place finish at the 2012 NCCAA II National Championships the MCC Men’s Soccer team has been ranked 3rd in the NCCAA II preseason coaches poll. The Crusaders garnered sixty points in the voting placing them behind defending national champions Moody Bible Institute (1) and runners-up Northland International University (2). MCC comes in at 3 with Ohio Christian, Providence, Cairn, Clearwater Christian, Ozark Christian, Toccoa Falls, and Maranatha Baptist rounding out the top 10. The Crusaders will face Northland on September 24th and conference rival Ozark on October 11th in Joplin. MCC will play the annual Alumni game this Friday at 7:00 and will officially kick off the season next Wednesday at home against Tabor College (NAIA).

After their first region championship since 2009 and a roster filled with experience expectations for the 2013 volleyball season are high. In the first NCCAA II coaches poll of the season the Lady Crusaders are ranked 5th behind defending national champions (1) Clearwater Christian, (2) Maranatha Baptist, (3) Kentucky Christian, and (4) Lincoln Christian. Rounding out the top ten behind the Lady Crusaders are (6) Providence, (7) Baptist Bible, (8) Cairn, (9) Ohio Christian, and (10) Lancaster Bible. MCC will take on Lincoln Christian University and Ohio Christian University at the Red Lion Invitational on Friday September 6th. The team is already off to a great start on the year and will be playing the annual Alumni game this Saturday August 31st at 10:30 am .
