NCCAA Honors MCC Women

At the NCCAA Division II Women's Basketball Banquet several members of the Women's Basketball program were honored.

Libby Wiite, a sophomore from Wichita, was selected as a 1st Team All-American.  Witte led MCC in scoring at 14.5 points and 11.4 rebounds.  Sarah Wenger, a senior from Topeka was recognized as a 2nd Team All-American.  Wenger averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 assists.

Leah Barger, Stacie Dole, Rebecca Hawthorne, Brittany Shaklee, Sarah Wenger and Kori Zarzutzki were all named Scholar-Athletes by the NCCAA.  With six individuals recognized, MCC had the hightest representation of any school in the country.  To qualify for this award you have to be recognized as junior or higher academically and have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.40.

Coach Larry Olson was named the National Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches.  Olson has led MCC to a 25-4 record, the Central Region Championship and the Midwest Christian College Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
