Veritas Christian School Music Teacher Position:  K-12 Choir as well as 5th-12th grade Band.  Part-time position with full-time availability depending on qualifications.  Teaching Certificate preferred with endorsement in either elementary or secondary along with experience in both choir and band.

Veritas Christian School has been providing a Christian alternative to the Lawrence Educational community for 35 years and is now offering Christ-centered education to all grade levels.  We average around 125 students K-12.  Our students score nearly two grade levels higher than the national average on National Achievement tests.  Veritas graduates have gone on to attend both private Christian colleges, Kansas Board of Regents Universities, and colleges across the Midwest.  Several students have been accepted at tier 1 universities.

Veritas Christian School is a non-denominational school neither supported nor run by any one particular church. Through the years, Veritas has enjoyed the support of many local churches by drawing students from a wide range of denominations and congregations. Our purpose, to provide a rigorous Christian education without focusing on specific denominational beliefs, has made this community-wide support possible. As an affiliate member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools (ACCS), Veritas benefits from the research, success, and support of many Classical Christian schools around the country. Veritas is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

The school’s name is the Latin word meaning “truth”.  Truth, as revealed in Scripture, produces freedom as we are told in John 8:32, “…and the truth shall make you free.”  Thus, we combine the pursuit of academic excellence with the study of God’s truth to produce students who have mastered the true goal of education: “learning to learn for themselves”.

The mission of Veritas Christian School is to provide a Christ-centered, Biblically-bases education that uses the classical approach to instruction.

The synthesis of Christianity and classical education methods produces an excellent integrated curriculum.  It guides student s to a Biblical reverence for the God who made the universe and the laws that govern it.

We are committed to education the student spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically by applying the principles of the Holy Scriptures to every area of life.

We believe our purpose is to assist parents in training their student in the knowledge of the Lord and to nurture a child’s obedience to Him.

With the start of the 2004-05 school year, Veritas began offering education opportunities for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, thereby offering a complete educational process for children. Students benefit from a highly trained and qualified staff and a wide range of course offerings. On-site library and computer lab facilities provide opportunities for educational support and practical application. Students also enjoy the playground and open areas for recess activities, the multi-purpose room for P.E. and school assemblies, and a hot lunch program.
