Lauren Sanders is the head coach for the Manhattan Christian College Lady Crusaders. Coach Sanders has been at MCC for eight seasons with an overall record of 202 wins and 80 losses. Coach Sanders was named Regional Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2012 and National Coach of the Year in 2012.
In 2012, the Lady Crusaders finished with an overall record of 31-13. MCC was 10-0 in the Midwest Christian College Conference regular season, finishing first in the Conference and also won the Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament. MCC was also the NCCAA Central Region Champions. The Lady Crusaders made their sixth showing at the NCCAA II National Championship Tournament, where they finished in 7th Place.
Coach Sanders’ goal is “Reaching for Excellence.” She plans to continue to work to build a strong, competitive program that will always be reaching for excellence, on and off the court.
Before coming to MCC, Coach Sanders played for the Sterling College volleyball team. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Kansas State University. She has attended the Gold Medal Squared Coaching Program as well as received her IMPACT coaching certification. Coach Sanders currently works for at MCC as the Director of Dining Services.
