Associate Minister of Family and Youth

Job Description

Frist Church of Christ in Caldwell, Ohio is seeking an Associate Minister of Family and Youth to minister and help lead the Church into the future. This ministry will focus on young families and the development of youth classes and programming in addition to current youth endeavors. This position is intended to transition into the Lead Minister position in approximately 3 years.

First Church of Christ is a well-established Restoration Congregation in Southeastern Ohio. The Church is focused on meeting the needs of the community and winning the lost for Christ. There is a strong youth presence in elementary and middle school children. Church growth, Evangelism, and Discipleship are the primary goals of the congregation.

Responsibilities:

• Take charge of the youth program.
• Work closely with the Senior Minister to develop fellowship, education, and opportunities for adults and children.
• Work with the Senior Minister under the oversight of the Eiders.
• Focus on families with children in the home (Senior Minister will focus on the older adults; overlap is expected and encouraged).
• Communicate with Elders, Senior Minister, Leadership Board, Youth workers, and Church Secretary.
• Teach and mentor youth, train and equip youth workers, preach as requested (68 times/year); a balance between teaching, training, administration, and families always must be a top consideration.

• Be a champion of evangelism and church growth by inspiring, equipping, and motivating the congregation to share the gospel with those within the local community.
• Spend intentional time in the community- this is encouraged and expected.
• Pursue and cultivate healthy interpersonal relationships.

Professional Development/PersonaI Growth:

• Continue to grow spiritually and be a lifelong learner.
• Seek honest and constructive feedback from the Senior Minister, Elders, and others.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of ministry.
• Minimum 3-5 years of ministry experience preferred.
• Demonstrate a passionate embodiment of God’s Word in daily life.
• Demonstrate a deep commitment to Christ and a compassion for His people.
• Exude enthusiasm for Christ, the Church, and People along with a positive attitude.
• Be an immersed believer, fully understanding the doctrine, history and beliefs of First Church within the Restoration Movement and be ordained by a Restoration Church.
• Demonstrate strong biblical knowledge with the ability to teach and preach to multiple audiences.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Complete a national background check including the sex offender registry.
