Associate Minister – Student and Young Adult
Are you ready to rumble for the Kingdom of God and take ground for Christ in the Northwest Houston area? Then we’ve got the job for you. Cypress Crossings Christian Church is strategically moving out of COVID with a deliberate purpose and vision for the future. In this process, we are re-booting C4 and have identified the need for a more robust leadership in student ministries and executive organizations for overall ministry function. The right visionary and hard-working person will join our Lead Minister and part-time staff. The part-time team includes an administrative assistant, children’s director, worship director, and volunteer pastoral care team leader. Cypress, Texas, is located on the Northwest side of the greater Houston metroplex and contains Texas’s third-largest public school district. Like most of Houston, Cypress is rich in diversity, continues to grow in population, and carries incredible potential for Kingdom growth.
General
-A mature and growing faith and clear call to full-time Christian Leadership vocation.
-Committed to the inerrant and authoritative Word of God.
-Goal is to reach the lost and equip the saints for the work of ministry. Luke 19:10 / Ephesians 4:11-12.
-In full agreement of C4 Mission, Vision, Values, and direction.
-Someone who is a visionary and able and willing to create and reach out beyond simply maintain the present status quo.
-Deference will be given to those with education from an accredited Restoration Movement College or Seminary.
-This position will report to the Lead Minister.
Student Minister Half Time:
(This includes Middle and High School students)
-Oversee, encourage, recruit, and train student ministry volunteers.
-Oversee and plan student ministry curriculum and programming.
At present, our students meet on Wednesday night and offer a Sunday morning community group.
-Participate in our connection with a local church camp. This would include going to at least one week of Church camp each summer.
-Develop and execute an outreach strategy focused on reaching unreached students in our region within three months of arrival.
-Participate along with volunteers in Vacation Bible School and or other outreach events for children.
-Counseling done on limited basis with the assumption that ongoing counseling will be referred to a professional in this area.
-Inclusion in schedule the attendance of student extra-curricular activities.
-Give oversight to pastoral care to students and their immediate families. Will work with pastoral care team director in this area.
-Work to integrate students into general life of the greater C4 church community.
-Create system and culture of deeper discipleship beyond Wednesday night and big events.
Young Adult. Half Time:
-Develop plan to outreach to young families in our surrounding area.
-Develop plan for moving young adults into discipleship groups.
-Assist in organizational aspects of C4 such as:
Work with worship director and admin assistant to leverage technology for smoother systems.
Work with worship director and admin assistant to leverage technology for our online presence and social media outlets.
Work with admin assistant on seamless scheduling of church calendar and life.
-Participate with elders, Lead Minister, and care team in pastoral care as needed.
-Ability to assist in occasional preaching.
-Ability to assist in areas of weddings and funerals when needed.
-Plan, organize, and implement budget for students and ensure its cohesiveness with entire C4 budget.
– Able to delegate and give follow up without micromanagement.
Other
-Clear and consistent communication.
-Self-starter.
-Thorough follow through – lives up to verbal and written agreements.
-Ability to speak the truth in love with a proven track record of doing such.
-Assume hard work along with the practice of Sabbath rest.
-Heart for the team mission above personal mission.
Additional details will be discussed in interview process. This is a full-time position. Salary package will be determined by experience. Sabbatical will be planned for after seven years of service.
