Building Intern
Building Intern Description:
The Casas por Cristo build internship gives you the opportunity to work closely with our teams by leading them through their build, provide homes for families, and share the love of Jesus Christ with the families you build for. If you choose a winter/spring internship, you will be working directly with our Field Coordinator staff to prepare for our busy spring break season, as well as lead builds when needed. If you are pursuing a summer internship, the first three weeks of your internship will be on-site training. You will learn how to effectively lead a team through the build process as well as become familiar with how to navigate the city, build relationships with the families and pastors your teams work with, and share the history and mission of Casas por Cristo. After your training weeks you will partner with other interns to lead teams throughout the builds. While most weeks you will be leading builds, some weeks you will be partnering with your fellow interns to build a house or working in the field office.
You will also have the opportunity to share your testimony and spiritual journey with the teams you lead and your fellow interns. All interns are responsible for fundraising support for their internship. This covers the cost of your travel, building costs, housing, and other expenses. See your specific internship below for information on how much fundraising is needed for your internship. It is recommended you raise an extra $750 for personal expenses. Fundraising can be daunting, but we believe that our building internship leads to tremendous physical, mental, and spiritual growth.
