Creative Arts Pastor

OFFICE HOURS: Monday – Thursday, Sunday (hourly – 40 hours/week) with paid holidays

The Lead Pastor is responsible for supporting, overseeing, and resourcing this position.

The Creative Arts Pastor is responsible for taking the mission and values of Cornerstone and implementing them personally
in their own spiritual life, through the Sunday worship gatherings, and harnessing creative communications tools, to make it
possible for the larger church body to grow as disciples.

This role can be described as having 2 areas of emphasis. The primary emphasis of this role (80%) is responsible for
working with the creative team to develop, rehearse, and execute the Sunday worship gathering. The secondary emphasis
(20%) is devoted to coordinating the print and digital communications of our church. This will include working with
volunteers who manage the church calendar and database entry, coordination of facility use, and minor administrative
duties.
Qualifications
GENERAL
• Person of faith practicing Christian principles and living in Christ-like character
• Exhibits professionalism and warmth, demonstrated by appearance, work ethic, and a teachable attitude
• Diligent about the need for maintaining confidentiality and discretion
• Proactive in pursuing conflict resolution and relational reconciliation
• Able to work at a fast pace within a variety of settings and circumstances and is flexible and adaptable. Maintains a roll with the punches’ attitude
• Chemistry that ‘fits’ the existing team and leadership

MUSICAL ARTS
• Pastoral heart that desires to love and shepherd those under their leadership and help them grow as disciples
• Passion to craft worship services that are theologically sound, and historically rich and culturally accessible
• Musically gifted as an instrumentalist (and as a vocalist preferably) and able to lead others in God-honoring and God-focused worship
• Experience in leading a band in Modern Worship (Bethel, Hillsong, Elevation, Jesus Culture, etc.)
• Thorough understanding of audio-visual equipment and able to troubleshoot technical problems and implement upgrades
• Strong ear and ability to discern instrumental and vocal parts for the purposes of rehearsal and preparing charts
• Able to communicate with various instrumentalists and vocalists on what is needed from everyone to contribute to the needs of the team and the songs

CREATIVE ARTS
• Capable of coordinating graphic design, lighting design, stage design, and presentation software to create a complete experiential package
• Strong computer skills are imperative (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize projects
• Excellent communicator with an eye for excellence in detail regarding grammar, composition, and punctuation

Preferred Qualifications
MUSICAL ARTS
• Guitar leadership preferred; instrumental leadership required
• Capable of filling in on multiple instruments if needed
• Knowledge and ability with Ableton Live, Reason, and other Multitrack software

CREATIVE ARTS
• Knowledge and ability with Adobe Photoshop or other image editing software
• Familiar with Social Media marketing using Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
• Experience with web design and maintenance using WordPress and Clover

Administration
WORSHIP
• Oversees the scheduling, recruitment, training, and communication with all worship personnel
• Coordinates and manages the worship ministry budget with the Lead Pastor
• Maintain Planning Center and Rehearsal Resources including charts, audio files, video tutorials, and other materials
• Communicate weekly with the Lead Pastor on service planning and evaluation

CREATIVE ARTS
• Oversee the preparation, proofing, and printing of the weekly bulletin and our
• Design and manage various digital communications including: electronic newsletter, website, social media, etc.
• Supervise the collection and editing of information for promotion through online and paper forms
• Data entry in church database of Sunday morning connection cards

SHARED RESPOSIBILITIES WITH ALL MINISTRY STAFF
• The entire ministry staff participates in screening and routing phone calls during office hours
• Maintain the church calendar

Service Planning & Execution
• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and members of the creative team to design a worship experience that leads our congregation in adoration, confession, thanksgiving, instruction, fellowship, communion, and being sent on
mission.
• Plan calls to worship, scripture readings, corporate prayers and other elements in addition to theologically sound musical worship.
• Oversee Thursday evening and Sunday morning rehearsals, and two services, including special Christmas Eve and Easter Services.

Technical
• Set up, maintain, or tear down the musical equipment, stage, and sound closet as needed
• Oversee the weekly worship presentation in Proclaim including lyrics, announcement slides, video clips, scriptures, prayers, and other elements
