White Mills Christian Camp in White Mills, KY is seeking a Food and Custodial Services Manager. See qualifications below.
General
- Be a Christian and live a Christian lifestyle including attending church regularly, preferably a Christian Church with ties to the Restoration Movement.
- Must see this position as a ministry with God and with the White Mills Christian Camp.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Passion and ability to cook for large numbers of people.
- Willingness to perform custodial and cleaning duties as needed or assigned.
- Able to multi-task and manage a variety of duties.
- Able to communicate well with others.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college preferred.
- Culinary training a plus.
Experience
- 2 years in food service industry preferred.
- 2 years experience in a supervisory or managerial position preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Have or willing to obtain required Food Service Manager or Person in Charge certification per Health Dept.
- First Aid and CPR preferred.
- Current Valid Driver’s license.
Knowledge
- Safety procedures appropriate to duties.
- Excellent cooking skills and understanding of working in a commercial kitchen.
- Managing budget and processes related to commercial food ordering.
- Proper cleaning/disinfecting methods used in custodial services.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time.
Work Expectations
This job requires extensive and varied hours, particularly during camp season and when helping with weekend retreats.
Summer – typically June and July
- Oversee and run the kitchen while providing wonderful meals for all summer
- Work with Camp Manager to best understand needs of all campers, volunteers and
- Allow for the preparation for special food needs as it may relate to allergies, etc.
- Order and organize all food while maintaining a neat and clean kitchen, pantry, cooler and freezer area.
- Delegate jobs to summer workers to assist in the preparation and serving of all meals as well as the cleaning of kitchen and dining room areas after each meal.
Retreat Season – typically August – May
- Oversee and run the kitchen while providing wonderful meals for weekend retreat
groups that request food service. - Thorough cleaning of facilities between retreat groups.
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and paper products.
- Maintain safe and organized closet/storage areas.
- Assist in exterior cleaning when necessary.
- Assist in retreat group activities when necessary.
- Be an integral part of the camp team in all aspects of the camp ministry willing to do
any job asked of them.

- Salary will be commensurate with experience.

- Holidays include New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
- 10 days sick leave per year.
- Vacation time includes 3 days after 6 months, 1 week after first year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 10 years.
