Senior Minister
Position Summary
Washington Christian Church is searching for the senior minister who will preach and lead the congregation to fulfill our mission. The Great Commission is our mission. Empowered by the Holy Spirit we make disciples by going, baptizing, and teaching to obey all that Jesus teaches us. (Matthew 28:19-20) We are motivated by the great commandment to love God and one another. (Matthew 22:36-40)
The senior minister would oversee the day to day activities of the church, and lead, train and equip the church to fulfill its purpose. This will be accomplished through preaching, teaching, evangelism and pastoral care, while building relationships of trust and compassion with the congregation. This position reports to the Elders and periodic congregational meetings. A knowledge and understanding of the “Restoration Movement” principals would be needed to lead well.
Senior Ministry Opportunity
The Washington Christian Church of Washington, Kansas is seeking a new senior minister to lead our congregation. We are an independent church that is part of the “Restoration Movement” of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. We are located in north central Kansas. The Washington Christian Church has been a beacon of light in our community for over 125 years. The Great Commission is our mission. We have a rich heritage of serving and making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ and sending many to Bible College, and into the mission field over several generations for this same purpose.
We love our community. Washington, Kansas is a great place to live and raise a family. We have an excellent school system. Our community consists of 1100 people with the Washington County population of 5,511. We are the county seat with a Kindergarten through 6th grade ½ block from our new church building and 7th – 12th grade two blocks away. Many locally owned businesses are walking distance from the church building. It is our hope and prayer to continue the outreach to the community we love and the missions we support.
