About Us
LeRoy Christian Church offers a foundational sound, debt-free, core group of 140+ believers (with a roll of twice that) who desire to grow their commitment to God, their likeness to Jesus, and their outreach to the area. We seek a dedicated Senior Minister to preach and pastor the existing congregation and grow our church family. Ideally the successful candidate would begin between April 1 and August 1, 2025.
Job Description
The Senior Minister serves as the primary spiritual leader, preacher, pastor, and administrator for the church. This role requires a dedicated individual with strong biblical teaching abilities, a heart for pastoral care, and leadership and organizational skills. The Senior Minister will collaborate closely with the Elders, staff, and ministry teams to fulfill the church’s mission of advancing God’s Kingdom in LeRoy and the surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities
- Preaching & Teaching:
- Deliver biblically sound and inspiring messages to the congregation.
- Ministry Leadership:
- Support church ministries, providing direction and mentorship to staff and volunteers.
- Discipleship & Evangelism:
- Lead the development of a comprehensive discipleship program and actively engage in outreach efforts to grow the congregation.
- Pastoral Care:
- Provide spiritual guidance, visitation, and counseling to members of the church, including the sick and bereaved.
- Administrative Oversight:
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the church office and staff, with a commitment to maintaining regular office hours.
- Governance:
- Collaborate with the Elders and Board, providing regular activity updates and participating in decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Strong biblical knowledge and teaching abilities.
- A heart for and experience in evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral care.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire staff and volunteers.
- Solid Organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships within the congregation and the surrounding community.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a pastoral leadership role. (Preferred)
