Worship/Groups Minister

Website Community Christian Church

Job Description

Tired of scrolling job boards?  Just a word of encouragement that even though we don’t know you (yet!), we’re praying for you! We trust that God is working out his plan for your ultimate good. He will lead you right where you need to be. The church needs you now more than ever. Please keep going!

Community Christian Church is seeking a Worship/Group Minister.  Community Christian Church is a community loved by Jesus that wants to see Jesus loved by our community. We are a two services on Sunday church and 550+ strong.

Since the very beginning in 1973, the heartbeat of Community has been a robust kids and students ministry. Crafting meaningful worship space on Sundays has been a vital to that end. Our worship ministry team has some very talented and dedicated people in need of a leader who can usher them into the next season of worship at Community.

We are proud that we can say that we’re about longevity here. Just three of our ministry pros have a combined experience of 87 years, not just in ministry, but in ministry right here at Community. For more about our church and staff please stalk us all you want at our  website Church Website, Facebook page Church FB Page, and YouTube channel Church YouTube. Seriously, check us out and watch at least a sermon or two. Get past our lead guys mustache and zero in to make sure you’re good setting the table for this guy to take the stage and yap every Sunday for the next decade.

Worship/Groups Ministry

Our Worship Ministry will continue to provide a major need for our congregation (worship) and also bridge a growing gap in our discipleship efforts (groups). On the worship side, you’ll step into a system with some assembly required, but not much. We love our room and have enlarged the stage to fit about anything you can dream up. We’ve upgraded to a digital board, added Lightkey, new in-ears, and an LED screen driven by ProPres. We iron out schedule details with the team through PCO.

The right person for this job will be excellent up front, strong vocalist, and have the ability to lead a meaningful worship time alone from guitar, piano, or bagpipes. Your choice. They will also be able to recruit team members and be organized enough to allow those team members to serve with joy.

Our Groups Ministry side, the canvas is pretty clean. The goal will be involvement, connection, and discipleship via groups. We envision our groups person driving the Rooted program (We love Rooted!), and developing a groups strategy that naturally flows out of it. Our Midweek program for kids and students is tailored for adult groups to coincide with it, but we need a driver. What would it look like for you to take the wheel?

Fort Scott Kansas

Fort Scott s an historic town in southeast Kansas that grew out of an original US frontier fort, Fort Scott, built in 1842. The restored Fort and historic downtown are visited by tourists year round. The current population is 7,500, and 15,000 people live within a 15 minute drive of the church. Fort Scott has one main public school system with great Christian school options too.

There is plenty to do in the Fort, but Kansas City (north) or Joplin (south) can be reached with a short 60ish minute drive if you need a quick reminder of why you chose a town with just six stoplights to raise your kids. Housing will be cheaper for you here than 90% of the country.

Fort Scott is largely conservative, pretty blue collar, and one big family. It’s not the perfect town (what town is?), but for the Scotians who have called this place home for a minute, there’s no place we’d rather be. We think it’s the epicenter of the universe. These people think so too. Here’s more than your head can hold about Fort Scott.
