Worship Leader At Bible Christian Church
The Worship Leader will first and foremost be a spiritual leader above reproach. (I Timothy 3) The number one responsibility of an effective and faithful pastor is Godliness, humility, and integrity. Nothing gets in the way of faithful ministry within a church more than a leader compromising any of these responsibilities. As a result, a major part of this job description is to model the highest level of character, godliness through spiritual disciplines and serving others.
This position is to work with the lead pastor to lead and create engaging and excellent worship environments. This position will also be responsible for investing time and energy into all worship / tech volunteers at the church. This involves recruiting, developing, training, encouraging and motivating volunteer and lay leaders for our worship teams.
In particular, the Worship Leader will report directly to the Executive Pastor while being accountable to the Lead Pastor and will provide leadership in all areas of the worship experience More specifically, this involves:
o Team Training and Personal Leadership Development Activities o Set up Worship Center for Sunday services including backline gear, mixing board scene preparation and stage layouts
o Prepare Click Tracks for weekend services
o Assist in worship for staff events
o Actively participate in weekly creative planning meetings
o Maintain and care for facilities (i.e. office space, worship center, etc.)
o Help develop systems and processes
o Collaborate with Lead Pastor to develop PCO plans
o Submit worship evaluation each Monday by noon
o Partner with student pastor to raise up worship team and invest in students
o Be fully engaged in at least one of the weekend worship celebrations
o Be visible in the lobby following each worship celebration
o Oversee all audio/video and musical elements pertaining to the worship center.
o Lead volunteer teams with excitement and vision (Weekly Rehearsals, etc).
o Arrive at least 1 hour before call time and be ready 15 minutes ahead of call time.
o All worship music scheduled for each weekend celebration should be chosen, charted, and loaded in PCO two weeks prior to the scheduled Thursday rehearsal.
o Maintain and test all equipment related to the worship experience at the church.
o Recruit and develop worship teams and tech teams. Conduct auditions, schedule team rotations, and provide ongoing training for volunteers
o Obtaining feedback from volunteers and establish systems and work flows that equip them to serve with excellence.
o Schedule all volunteers at least a month in advance through PCO
o Complete trimester Ministry Action Plan (MAP) while receiving feedback from both Executive Pastor and Lead Pastor
o Any other responsibilities deemed necessary for carrying out the vision of Bible Christian Church
o Expectation of 40-45 hours per week
