The purpose of the Collection Development Policy is to serve as a guide for the selection of books and other materials for the Manhattan Christian College Library.

Two study rooms are available for use in the northeast and southeast corners of both floors of the library. Feel free to go in and study or have a group meeting. In addition, the Cassel Conference Room is located behind the fireplace on the 3rd floor. To reserve it, talk to the librarian at the Circulation Desk.

The History Room on the second floor of Jolliffe Hall contains books pertaining to the history of Manhattan Christian College and the Restoration movement. These include a portion of the libraries of former MCC presidents T. H. Johnson, W. F. Lown, and Kenneth Cable. In addition, copies of MCC catalogs, newsletters, and yearbooks are located there, as well as special old books. All of these are cataloged and may be found in the MCC online catalog. If you wish to view one of these books, please contact Ron Ratliff or Mary Ann Buhler in the library. They will obtain the item and take it to the library, where you may view it at a table in front of the fireplace. Because the oils in a person’s hands damage old books, we request that you either wash your hands thoroughly or wear special gloves (provided) when looking at the book. The book may be viewed ONLY in the library. When you are finished with the book, please return it to the person who procured it for you.
