Job Description

World Gospel Outreach is looking for the right person to join our team as the Belize Field Director (BFD) The essence of this position is that it provides the overall operational leadership for the ministry activities in the country of Belize and for neighboring countries as we pursue growth from the Belize campus operations.

The current major element of the WGO ministry in Belize is the Serve Teams that come and do partnership projects in the community.  These currently take the form of construction, medical, water projects, etc. In the future, we anticipate there will be other elements to the ministry in Belize and potentially neighboring countries that include what we currently do but might also include ideas with a Business model as Ministry and micro-enterprises, all of which would fall under the purview of the BFD.

Another essential aspect for this position is to build and maintain management structures, processes, and policies that allow the efficient and smooth flow of the daily ministry activities and operations. The BFD will be the primary legal representative for Belize legal matters and be a part of the Belize Board of Directors. This position should see itself as the primary resource to the CEO, executing ministry strategies as developed by the CEO, as well as, the
Management Action Group (MAG) of which the BFD is a key part.

This position has the primary responsibility to apply the resources available, both in terms of Belizean and missionary staff and financial resources, to accomplish the goals set forth which seek to further the vision of the ministry.

 

Essential/Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Spiritual Leadership.
  • Ministry Planning and Development.
  • Staff Care and Development.
  • Risk Management.
  • Facilities and Assets Oversight.
  • Budget/Financial Oversight.
  • Develop overall good team dynamics and unification with the ministry staff.
  • Government/Legal, Payroll and Human Resources Policies & Procedures Management.

 

Required Skills/Abilities include:

  • Excellent at managing time and prioritizing multiple tasks and workload.
  • Clear and concise communication skills-written and verbal.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Essential follow-up on project(s) status and progress.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

 

Education, Experience & Other

  • 4+ years College degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in management or leadership positions.
  • Knowledge of and experience in “When Helping Hurts” ministry model or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Spanish as a second language preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Office and Google experience.
  • Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
