Grace Community Christian Church (GC3) is an independent Christian Church in Frederick, Maryland, committed to biblical teaching and the traditions of the Restoration Movement. Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Pastor who will serve as both spiritual shepherd and organizational leader. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to biblical truth, a heart for discipleship, and the ability to lead a congregation in today’s changing cultural landscape.
Qualifications
- Biblical Requirements (per 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9).
- Above reproach in character.
- Proven ability to manage family well.
- Not a recent convert.
- Good reputation with outsiders.
- Self-controlled and disciplined.
- Able to teach sound doctrine.
- Hospitable and gentle in spirit.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years pastoral experience.
- Strong preaching and teaching abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills.
- Experience in church growth and development.
- Proficiency in current technology and communication tools.

Primary Responsibilities
- Spiritual Leadership (40%).
- Prepare and deliver biblical, relevant sermons.
- Lead communion services and special events.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling.
- Perform weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
- Maintain regular prayer life for congregation.
- Leadership Development (20%).
- Train and develop elders and deacons.
- Mentor emerging leaders.
- Establish and oversee small group ministries.
- Guide leadership board in vision and planning.
- Participate in all major ministry decisions.
- Outreach and Growth (20%).
- Lead congregation in community engagement.
- Develop strategies for church growth.
- Oversee membership classes and integration.
- Build relationships with local organizations.
- Engage in personal evangelism.
- Administrative Oversight (20%).
- Supervise church staff.
- Participate in budget planning.
- Attend board and committee meetings.
- Maintain appropriate church records.
- Oversee church communications

- Regular participation in small groups.

Compensation Package
- Competitive salary range (including housing allowance): $65,000-$100,000 (based on experience).
- Health insurance.

- Paid vacation: 2 weeks (2 Sundays) annually
