About Town & Country
For over 60 years, Town & Country has been serving Christ in southwest Topeka–the capital city of Kansas. Our mission is to make disciples who love God, love others, and serve like Jesus. We are blessed to have strong connections with our community through local food distribution, service with the city’s rescue mission, and a strong relationship with a nearby elementary school, all of which allows us to serve our community while sharing God’s love and gospel with the people of our city.
Position Overview
The Student Minister will lead ministry to 6th-12th grade students in order to further Town & Country’s mission: To make disciples who love God, love others, and serve like Jesus. Through teaching, small groups, service opportunities, and special events, the Student Minister will help the next generation of Christ-followers discover their identity in Jesus, grow in their walk with him, and engage in his mission in the world.
Reports to: Lead Minister and Elders
Status: Permanent Full-Time Position (40+ hours/week)
Qualifications
- Agreement with the beliefs of Town & Country Christian Church is required. Town & Country is an independent Christian church associated with the Restoration Movement.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Plan and lead weekly student ministry programs. Current weekly programs include youth group on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings, and a middle school outreach program Wednesday afternoons.
- Recruit, train, and lead volunteers who serve within the student ministry.
- Plan and oversee special events such as CIY, summer camp, and retreats.
- Help students discover ways to use their unique gifts and passions to serve the church and community.
- Ensure thorough and efficient communication with parents, volunteers, and students regarding ministry updates via newsletter, flyers, social media, emails, etc.
- Assist with churchwide activities and be ready to help in areas outside of the student ministry (e.g., VBS, all-church events, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Minister which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of this position.
