How to Apply for Aid

Complete FAFSA

Filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your gateway to accessing financial support for college. At Manhattan Christian College, we want you to feel confident and supported through every step of this important process.

Step 1: Get Your FSA ID

Think of your FSA ID as the key to your FAFSA login. Both you (the student) and a parent (if you are a dependent), will need to create an FSA ID. The FSA ID lets you sign your FAFSA electronically, access federal aid tools, and even later make corrections or updates.

Step 2: Gather Your Information

Before you begin the FAFSA, gather the necessary documents to make the process smooth. For the 2025-2026 academic year, you will need information from your 2023 tax return. Here is what to have on hand:

  • Social Security numbers for you and your parent(s), if applicable. Or your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen.
  • 2023 federal tax returns, W-2 forms, and other records of income.

Step 3: Complete the Student Section of the FAFSA

Visit studentaid.gov and log in with your FSA ID to start the FAFSA.

  • You will need to provide consent and approval to have your federal tax information released from the IRS, you must do this even if you did not file a tax return.
  • If you are a dependent student, enter your parent(s) information to invite them as a contributor to your FAFSA.
  • If you are married, enter your spouse information.
  • You will need to include Manhattan Christian College as a school to receive your FAFSA information. Our school code is 001931.
  • Sign your FAFSA.

Step 4: Contributors Complete their Section of the FAFSA

Contributors will get an email to complete their section of the FAFSA. All contributors (parent(s), stepparent, or student’s spouse) must use their FSA ID to access the FAFSA, provide consent and approval, complete their section of the FAFSA and sign the FAFSA electronically.

Step 5: FAFSA Submission

After all contributors have provided consent and signed the application, it will be sent to the FAFSA Processing System and to Manhattan Christian College.
