White Mills Christian Camp in White Mills, KY is seeking a Facility and Grounds Manager. See qualifications below.
General
- Be a Christian and live a Christian lifestyle including attending church regularly, preferably a Christian Church with ties to the Restoration Movement.
- Must see this position as a ministry with God and with the White Mills Christian Camp.
- Self motivated and organized.
- Basic familiarity with various systems and equipment or a willingness to learn – examples include HVAC, electric, plumping, painting, lawn equipment maintenance, general construction.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some college preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift heavy loads occasionally.
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of adverse weather
- Ability to operate a weed trimmer for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate mowers and tractors.
Responsibilities:
Grounds
- Mow and trim property to keep grounds healthy, beautiful, and fire safe.
- Maintain all grounds by caring for lawns, trees, shrubs and flowerbeds.
- Perform routine maintenance on mowers and equipment.
- Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and repair as necessary.
- Prepare outdoor areas for seasonal changes.
- Keep parking lots, common areas, and other spaces free of debris/litter.
Buildings
- Periodic review of all buildings and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Basic repairs including painting, electrical/lighting, plumbing, and perhaps some
- Inventory and maintain all equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Document repairs/maintenance and communicate needs to camp manager.
- Complete new construction or remodel projects as directed by the camp manager and within one’s ability.
- Insure workshops, storage areas, and building sites are clean and safe.
- Perform cleaning and custodial duties as needed or assigned.
- Maintain and operate swimming pool (Willingness to obtain and maintain Certified Pool Operator license).
Work Expectations
- This job requires extensive and varied hours, particularly during camp season and when helping with weekend retreats.
Summer – typically June and July
- Be available during all programs to maintain working facilities and well-kept grounds.
- Work with Camp Manager to best understand the needs of all campers, volunteers and workers as it pertains to facilities and grounds.
- Supervise and work alongside of seasonal workers and volunteers.
Retreat Season – typically August – May
- Full time work will continue all year even after mowing season with more specific focus on buildings.
- Readying facilities for each weekend group by cleaning and maintaining but with a focus on improving buildings by repairs and or additions as directed by Camp
- Be an integral part of the camp team in all aspects of camp ministry willing to do any job asked of them.
Benefits:
- Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- Meals when served.
- Holidays include New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
- 10 days sick leave per year.
- Vacation time includes 3 days after 6 months, 1 week after first year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 10 years.
