Job Description
First Christian Church is a small, independent church in Canadian, Texas. Located in the prettiest part of the Texas Panhandle, First Christian Church is seeking a senior pastor, or as the members have referred to the role: “church captain.” The ideal candidate will embrace our mission statement: “To make disciples who know Jesus and love like him in Canadian, Texas.” The position will be open March 25, 2026.
Responsibilities/Duties
The ideal candidate in a small town church would be comfortable wearing many additional hats. Some of which a senior pastor might not typically envision as part of the job description.
Such duties would include
- Helping with youth ministry,
- Office and facilities management,
- Bible study,
- Leading worship,
- Hospital visits, and
- Becoming an integral part of a tight-knit, small town community.
