Job Description
Central Christian Church in Caldwell, KS is seeking a full-time senior pastor to lead our congregation in weekly worship services through engaging and biblically-based sermons, to provide pastoral care and leadership to our congregation, to provide outreach to all ages in our congregation and be active in the community, and to lead our church in spiritual growth and service.
Specifically
- We are looking for expository/topical preaching with a practical application and a relational style which is biblically-based.
- The pastor will assist the board and the elders in the direction of the church and will provide input regarding financial matters.
- We desire a pastor who is leading us with passion and encouraging us to follow Christ in our everyday walk as a Christian.
- We need guidance from a pastor as our desire is to do more outreach and mission work in our local community and beyond.
- The pastor will direct and work closely with the board, elders and our teams to provide effective ministry to our congregation and to enable us to bring others into our church family.
- The pastor will direct all of the pivotal parts that make up each service. We have numerous volunteers who are willing to help carry out that plan with an option to hire a part time clerical support staff if needed.
Central Christian is governed by the church board with the elders also providing leadership within our congregation. We have several active ‘teams’ in our congregation who provide support to the pastor and our members (worship team, fellowship team, evangelism team, and prayer team). We have a strong weekly after school program (Praise Kids) for children K-5 with an average attendance of 35. We have a combined MS/HS youth group and have recently started a Children’s Church ministry on Sunday mornings during worship service. Our average weekly church attendance is between 50-60 and we are a debt-free church with strong financial backing.
Pay/benefit Package
Our benefit package includes a $30,000 salary plus housing and utilities (estimated fair market value of $16,500). Our church provides housing for the pastor in our parsonage (4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 car attached garage, fenced backyard). In addition, our total package will include compensation for health insurance, pension, auto expense, professional expense and social security offset.. The breakdown of each compensated item is negotiable with a total package in the range of $70,000-$80,000.
Vacation allowance will be 20 days including four Sundays per year. We will also cover moving expenses.
Local Community
Caldwell is a small, thriving rural community in south central Kansas. Our community offers many amenities including: a new regional hospital and health clinic with EMS services, a wonderful school district with a new preschool and daycare facility as well as a new addition to the high school, two local banks, grocery store, pharmacy, Kanokla telephone cooperative, restaurants and bakery, hair and nail salon, dentist, attorney, mortuary, flower shop and several gift shops, post office, auto parts store, farm repair business, lumber yard, Farmers Coop, volunteer fire department, fitness center, swimming pool, splash pad, community park, sports complex, and several event venues.
In addition to our amenities, Caldwell has a lot of history which brings in tourists from all over. Our downtown has been revitalized with murals, updated painting on many of the buildings, and many historical signs line the streets of Caldwell to share the story of our past. We take great pride in our community.
