Job Description

The Lathrop First Christian Church is looking for someone that has a passion for teaching and doing life with students 7th-12th grade. Pastor Scott is the “solo” minister here and he would gladly be willing to walk alongside someone to train and pour into for individuals interested a position like this. This would be a great learning environment. Currently we have 3-6 that come to regular activities, and they are a good group of students. We are also looking to the future as we currently have a larger group coming up to increase those numbers in a year or two. Funding for activities and supplies are NOT an issue in our congregation. We want the individual to have the resources needed.

This is a paid, part-time position. Negotiated hours dictate the total amount, but we are looking at $20 an hour to include prep time. We are currently thinking this to be an approximately 5 hour a week position, but that is certainly negotiable depending on expectations and availability.

Lathrop First Christian Church is over 150 years old and is currently going through a phase of growth and renewal. The last three years we have seen an increase attendance of over 11% each year. Lathrop First Christian Church is a Stone-Campbell congregation with a large imprint on the local community. We are located about 30 minutes Northeast of Kansas City, right off I-35. It is a small town of 2,000 that most work in Liberty or Kansas City, but there is a long history of agriculture in this area.
