At Harmony Christian Church, our mission is simple: to make disciples of Jesus Christ by courageously living and sharing the Gospel. We are an Independent Christian Church on the south side of Choctaw, OK, committed to the authority of God’s Word and the desire to see people come to know the hope and peace that are found only through relationship with Jesus Christ.

Position Description

Harmony Christian Church is seeking a Worship Director who is passionate about leading the church in Christ-centered, congregational worship. This is a paid, part-time position ideal for someone who wants to serve the church bi-vocationally.

The Worship Director will work collaboratively with the pastor to plan Sunday services, lead the congregation musically (preferably using guitar or piano), and organize and equip volunteer musicians.

A strong candidate will be musically skilled, organized, spiritually mature, and committed to leading the congregation in a blended selection of theologically rich songs, drawing from both historic hymns and well-chosen contemporary music.

Role Responsibilities

Lead the congregation in Christ-centered, engaging worship each Sunday morning through music and prayer.
Must be able to confidently lead the congregation vocally and instrumentally (preferably using a guitar or piano).
Recruit, train, and organize volunteers and musicians so that they know and are equipped to execute their role in each service.
Organize and coordinate weekly worship practices.
Set a tone of humility and Christ-centeredness for the worship team, encouraging unity, spiritual growth, and an attitude of service.
The Worship Director reports directly to the Senior Minister, and works with him to plan meaningful worship sets and services in alignment with the message and church calendar.
Communicate the weekly worship set list and team members in a timely manner to the Senior Minister and Church Secretary.
Maintain an organized volunteer schedule and set-list using Planning Center.

Must be a committed follower of Jesus, seeking daily to grow in their faith.
Must align with our beliefs, statement of faith, and the mission we believe God has for us.
Vocal ability, musical knowledge, and experience leading worship.
Must be reliable, organized, and able to communicate well to a team of volunteers.
A heart for ministry and the ability to work well with others, fostering a culture of humility and service.
