Minister
Job Description
Oak Grove Christian of Christ is seeking a minister. We are seeking the right person to serve the congregation as a preacher and to work with the elders and/or other leaders in the congregation to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.
Responsibilities:
- Preach at Sunday morning service.
- Teach or facilitate teachers for Wednesday evening and Sunday Morning classes.
- Conduct funerals and weddings.
- Conduct personal studies with individuals interested in learning more about Christ both within the congregation and in the community.
- Visit members in the hospital and follow up with visitors to the congregation.
- Encourage involvement at every level.
- Foster healthy relationships with other preachers in surrounding areas.
Management:
- Serve as a team leader to coordinate office procedures, secretarial staff, and other items relating to providing the congregation with an efficient service center.
- Schedule and lead Sunday School meetings which will enhance and enable better relationships with God, with each other, and with the rest of the congregation.
- Edit, write articles, and ensure quality of weekly bulletin.
- Report to the church Board during monthly meetings.
Counseling:
- Provide premarital counseling.
- Provide other counseling, when appropriate, to those who desire it.
- Offer referral and encourage further help for those who need it.
