Senior Minister

Job Description

Litchfield Christian Church is seeking a senior pastor who has a strong relationship-focused ministry both inside and outside the walls of our building. The ideal candidate will possess a strong personal prayer life which leads him to inspire and teach through challenging and applicable messages. As a relational team player, we desire a collaborative leader who is skilled at empowering others, passionate about the next generation, and advocates for intergenerational ministry.

Litchfield Christian Church (LCC) exists to be a place where people can experience God’s love in their lives and discover God’s plan for their lives. Our goal is to make disciples by connecting people to Christ and to one another, growing towards maturity in Christ, and serving in the name and reputation of Christ.

LCC is an independent Christian church and is part of the Restoration Movement. In 1871, a group of believers came together to worship as simple Christians in the frontier town of Litchfield.  They had the motto, “Where the Bible speaks, we speak.  Where the Bible is silent, we are silent.”  The church met in multiple locations including a school and the second floor of a tavern.

Located on the shores of Lake Ripley, Litchfield is 1 hour and 20 minutes west of Minneapolis.  With a population just under 7,000, you will find many opportunities in this diverse, rural area rich with recreation, agriculture, and history.

Nestled in the middle of Meeker County (population of 23,500), Litchfield is the county seat and surrounded by 100 swimming and fishing lakes, rolling farmland, and a steadily growing residential population.  The area is home to a wide array of community events, local shops and restaurants, a historical museum attached to one of last remaining Grand Army of the Republic Halls, a stunning arboretum, a drive-in movie theater, and many city, county, and state parks.

Every month, we have a “Donut Sunday” after the service for a time of fellowship.  We also have a potluck meal every 5th Sunday.
