This position is an excellent opportunity for a student pastor with vision to help us advance our student ministry and become the hub of student ministry in our area. Garden City is growing tremendously at a rate of needing one new house built every three days for the next ten years. New businesses, retail and restaurants continue to establish themselves here in Garden City including, Dicks Sporting Goods, Target, Old Navy, Kohl’s and Starbucks. The agricultural industry is thriving and recreational opportunities have recently been added or are in the process of being built. (A new water park is in its second year and a new sports complex is currently under construction). And though our city has exceptional opportunities for recreation and shopping, Colorado Springs and Denver are just a few hours away when you are looking to try something new. Finney County has a middle school/high school population of 3600+ and the student ministry at Bible Christian Church has the potential to make the biggest impact in the lives of those students. Our church is passionate about reaching this next generation and a strong team that values excellence is in place to partner with. Truly the sky is the limit for what our student ministry can be and do in Garden City.
About This Organization Bible Christian Church was planted in 1967 by a group of Jesus followers seeking authentic Bible-based teaching. Outreach has become a core part of who Bible Christian Church is. We focus on creating not just outreach opportunities, but a culture of evangelism by encouraging our members to invest and invite (Invest in the people around you that God has placed in your life by building relationships and then invite them to church or into a conversation about the gospel).
Brian Wilson is the Lead Pastor at Bible Christian Church. He was called to BCC in January 2019 from Raleigh, NC. The church has seen growth and great health under his leadership and direction. Bible Christian Church is an elder-led, staff-driven church, with our elder team providing accountability for the lead pastor on vision, strategy, and culture. The lead pastor oversees and collaborates with the other pastors, ministry leaders, and support staff members and serves as an elder himself. Bible Christian Church is currently in a new building expansion project. We are adding a beautiful new lobby space, a new state of the art worship center, along with an amazing new kids ministry and student ministry wing. We believe this addition will be a wonderful tool to help us better reach our city for Christ!
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a clear ministry strategy that effectively engages students, promotes life change, and empowers families and leaders.
- Attend and relationally engage at school events and student sporting events weekly.
- Recruit, train and develop volunteers and leaders.
- Plan and execute engaging Wednesday programming for students.
- Create content for teaching and small groups.
- Communicate with families via email, text, and social media.
- Plan and execute events throughout the year, including summer camps.
- Set and manage the annual student ministry budget alongside the Executive Pastor.
- Develop and implement all safety and security processes and policies in conjunction with the safety team.
