Student Minister

Principal Function of this Position:
This full-time member of our Student Ministry team equips, trains, and ministers to students and their families. This individual must be passionate about students, knowledgeable about their context, willing to engage families and focused on developing leaders.
Qualifications for this Position:
 Communication skills
 Emotional intelligence
 Experience developing teams
 Knowledge of Orange Strategy is preferred
Requirements of this Position:
 Curriculum Development and Execution
o Cast vision that aligns students and leaders
o Execute a long-term scope and sequence
o Implement curriculum for Sunday School classes and small groups
 Leader Development
o Develop teams
o Consistent communication with leader teams
o Regular leader trainings and huddles
 Student Discipleship
o Weekly connections with students and families
o Pastoral care of students and families
o Engage in strategic, off-site events (sporting events, plays, recitals, etc.)

 Event Planning
o Develop strategic and engaging events
o Partner with leader team and other staff members to execute events
o Effectively communicate events via relevant platforms (social media, email, etc.)

Standard Expectations of FCC-JC Staff:
• Meet deadlines for all tasks requested
• Meet deadline for weekly deliverables (vision newsletter updates, etc.)
• Turn in vacation requests at least two weeks prior to requested date
• Communicate unexpected absences due to illness, etc., to your supervisor
• Be in communication with supervisor
• Communicate daily and weekly schedule through Scotland Yard
• For staff members with a church Visa, balance your Visa statement by the deadline and provide receipts for all
items purchased

• Regularly attend a worship service for personal spiritual enrichment, not part of “professional duties”
• Regularly meet with a mentor
• Benchmark spiritual development
• Participate in a small group designed for spiritual growth
Professional Development
• Attend Leadership Summit and integrate principles and best practices
• Be a lifelong learner
• Develop others through mentoring and discipleship
• Develop computer skills according to staff IT and tech plans
• Regularly meet with a mentor with whom you want to foster a relationship
• Recruit and train volunteers in your area
Staff Handbook
• Personally align with staff values and best practices in staff handbook
• Adhere to the Staff Handbook for current policies and procedures
