Job Description
Wellston Christian Church is located in Wellston, Oklahoma and is an independent Christian Church that seeks to focus on what unites us as followers of Christ instead of what could prove to separate us. Our mission as a church of Wellston is to evangelize the lost, minister to those in need, edify the saved, and be a conscience in our community. The Director of Outreach and Discipleship will be committed to helping maintain unity in Christ and pursuing our mission within our community and surrounding area.
The primary focus of the Director will be youth ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. This individual will have a combination of programmatic leadership, community witness, spiritual formation, and pastoral care. The Director of Outreach and Discipleship will work in partnership with the senior minister, the church board, ministry teams, and the congregation.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Christian Church in relation to the Restoration movement. The ideal candidate will be outreach and development focused while striving for growth in the church’s impact and connection in the community. The ideal candidate must also employ creativity, be able and willing to coordinate, all while being a part of the church family at Wellston Christian Church. The Director of Outreach and Discipleship reports to the senior minister and church board as a member of staff. This is a part-time position with a requirement of 15-20 hours a week dedicated to assigned responsibilities.

Youth Ministries Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementation and supervision of youth curriculums.
- Sunday School curriculum for Pre-K through 1st grade.
- Sunday School curriculum for 2nd-5th grade.
- Children’s Church Curriculum for Pre-K through 5th grade.
- Wednesday Night Curriculum for Pre-K through 5th grade.
- Scheduling of volunteers which may include:
- Teachers for Sunday school and children’s church.
- Teachers and helpers for Wednesday night church.
- Volunteers for Wednesday night church.
- Cooks
- Van Drivers
- Ability to teach and lead youth classes.
- Will be a part of the teaching rotation on Sundays and Wednesdays.
- Will be required to be present at Sunday and Wednesday Services.
- Assist with registration and organization of summer camps/mission trips.
- Ministry to parents of children and youth.
Outreach Ministries Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, and oversee community programs and events in conjunction with the other church programs. Areas may include:
- Community outreach events hosted by WCC.
- Annual Vacation Bible School.
- Partnering with Jubilee Partners after-school and summer program.
- Engage with the diversity of people in the community, surrounding areas, and local schools.
Clerical Duties
- Create and produce weekly church bulletin and weekend update.
- Help maintain events and volunteer calendar.
- Periodically check church phone messages and church email.
