Job Description
The Pastor of Village Christian Church (VCC) is the preacher, an active member of the Eldership, and the leader of the Outreach and Service Team. [VCC operates on a Team Ministry Basis and seeks to have every one of its approximately 50 members engaged actively in one or more of its 20 Ministry Teams]. The Pastor delivers weekly sermon messages, is active and visible in the church community by participating in/or attending several Ministry Teams meetings or activities each month and is active in the community of Hot Springs Village attracting people to VCC. Outreach within the community of Hot Springs Village is an important function of the role of Pastor.
Hot Springs Village is a gated community of 15,000 people, located 35 miles north of Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is primarily a retirement community but has about 1000 school-aged children. It has 8 golf courses, 11 lakes, and its property owners are active and outdoors focused. VCC is a warm, welcoming and Christ-focused fellowship, actively involved in Christian service. The Pastor is the primary spiritual leader, but the congregation is also actively shepherded by elders.
